You are invited to be a vital part of the Douglas County Retardation Association's (DCRA) "Living Legacy" program. Over the years, since 1970, many wonderful supporters have given money, their time, goods and services, or bequests to help our consumers. They have helped us provide a comfortable, skilled, and caring setting where the best level of care and a nationally recognized program is available to those we serve.
From time to time, we need to replace vehicles used to transport consumers to doctors' offices, hospitals, places of employment, or to social, educational, cultural events, and religious services.
At times, special opportunities arise that would enrich the lives of our consumers. Several times a year our staff reviews each client's clothing needs with them and we go shopping. When it comes to a consumer's personal belongings, we buy goods of quality, not just the cheapest we can find. Properties where our consumers live are constantly being upgraded and refurbished. Sometimes when one of our consumers passes away, a fitting funeral needs to be purchased. All of these require funds and none are left undone.
DCRA is a private, non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization registered with the IRS. All contributions are tax deductible. DCRA depends on the generosity of its friends and supporters to supplement services for individuals with mental retardation.

DONATE YOUR CAR TO DCRA
THROUGH CHARITY AUTO DONATIONS, INC.
Charity Direct is the contracted agent for DCRA, accepting vehicles that are sold and the proceeds given to DCRA. Charity Direct will pick up the vehicle free of charge in most cases, and sell the vehicle. From net proceeds, 60% to 70% or more is distributed to DCRA. Donors must have a clear title to the vehicle in their name. All donated items are 100% tax deductible. The IRS allows you to deduct the full fair market value of the vehicle in the condition it is in as your donation. Any vehicle is accepted, running or not running (with some exceptions) .
