PHILOSOPHY

We believe that all individuals regardless of race, creed, religion, or national origin; regardless of condition of birth; regardless of physical and/or mental capacity, should be afforded the basic right of human dignity and freedom; and, that services should be offered in the least restrictive and most normalizing environment, as is feasible, considering the individual's disablilty.

We believe that the functioning capacity of persons with mental retardation can be developed and enhanced through training, social and community integration.

We believe that persons with mental retardation have the right to enjoy and benefit from participating in their own community.

We believe in the importance of meaningful work and personal autonomy for persons with mental retardation.

We believe that our jobs exists to advocate for individuals with mental retardation and to provide services for which we are contracted. We are didicated to individuals with mental retardation and their families.

We are committed to excellence. We deliver services in an enthusiastic manner and believe only the best is acceptable for the people we serve.

We are a team. Each member of our staff has an important role. Like spokes in a wheel, we are all needed. Individually, we are committed to leading by example, and in creating a caring, loving environment where each person and client is accepted and respected for the abilities he/she possesses. We particularly value our relationship with each other. As a group,we are the most valuable resource which DCRA possesses.
